My dream comes of age

Running my KL workshop

As you must know by now – I love to be busy. Since the day I left university I have wanted to have a career. When I married Ian in 1987 and moved to Dubai I learned that my career had to become portable. Once the children came along I realised my career needed to be flexible enough to fit round my family, a social life, visitors and long trips ‘home’. As soon as I noticed that we were going to keep on moving country I recognised I needed a career that would be portable, flexible and sustainable despite moves. Then, in 1997, while living in Stavanger, I came up with the title for first a book and then a workshop – A Career in Your Suitcase.

Eighteen years and several countries later, the book has become a training program that can be facilitated to anyone, living anywhere in the world. I guess my dream has come of age.

Here’s what I wrote about this for our blog at Career in Your Suitcase.
